Membership

The Colorado Archaeological Society is a private, non-profit organization established in 1935, and currently includes 9 chapters located throughout the state, one of which is the Grand Junction Chapter. The membership is comprised of avocationalists, students, and professionals interested in archaeology as well as the discovery, documentation, and protection of Colorado’s historic and prehistoric cultural resources.

Membership is open to any person interested in archaeology.

  • ​Monthly meetings with lectures by noted professional and avocational archaeologists.

  • Quarterly newsletter filled with articles, upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities. Issued by email with links to regional events.

  • The renowned CAS quarterly journal, Southwestern Lore.​

Online Membership Application Process

Membership in the Grand Junction Chapter of the Colorado Archaeological Society is done through the CAS membership portal.  As you complete the online membership form, you will be selecting the Grand Junction Chapter as the primary chapter to join.  While doing so you may optionally select and join a Secondary Chapter at a lesser membership fee.  (To assist you in choosing a Secondary Chapter to join, please visit our State CAS website which includes a map and description of the other Chapters.)

Membership Levels and Annual Dues

  • Individual Level - $32

  • Family Level - $40 

  • Student - $16

  • Secondary Individual membership - $16

  • Secondary Family membership - $20

Membership Renewal Process

Existing members will receive an email about a month ahead of their renewal date from the Society with instructions on the membership renewal process.
